The company’s process and quality teams traveled to the customer’s workshop to assist with the fitting and adjustment of a large sheet metal enclosure, while also verifying their own production processes and product quality on-site.
The enclosure measures 4.3 meters in length, with an installation accuracy requirement of ±1mm, and features welded components. This presented a significant challenge for large-scale sheet metal fabrication. As this was the company’s first production of this type of sheet metal, the entire organization placed great emphasis on the project.
After a morning of fitting and adjustment, the sheet metal enclosure largely met the client’s requirements and was successfully delivered.
Insight: Due to the influence of gravity, the design of connection points or mounting points for large sheet metal components relative to mechanical frames is extremely critical. Too many welded mounting points or connection points can cause the sheet metal to warp during welding, while too few may result in deformation due to the component’s own weight.
